Privacy policy
Last updated: October 11, 2026
This policy explains how Klapp collects, uses and protects personal information in the United States: when you use a Klapp loyalty card at a participating business, when you fill in a form on getklapp.us, or when you visit this website.
1. Who we are
Klapp is a service provided by Klapp Connect, a French simplified joint-stock company (SASU) with share capital of 1,000 euros, registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 106 733 512, with its registered office at 47 rue Vivienne, 75002 Paris, France. Contact: hello@getklapp.fr.
For the information linked to your loyalty card, the business where you use the card decides how it is used. Klapp processes it on that business’s behalf.
2. Information we collect
When you hold your phone near a Klapp contactless stand at a business and create your card, we collect:
- Your mobile phone number, which identifies your loyalty card.
- Your first name, last name and email address, so that the business can recognize you and send you its offers.
- Your date of birth and gender (you can choose not to say), to tailor offers and celebrate your birthday.
- Your visits: the date and time of each visit that adds a point, with a maximum of one point per day.
- Your rewards: the rewards you have earned and redeemed.
- Your text message choice: whether you agreed to receive text messages from the business, when and how, and any STOP reply.
- Technical identifiers linked to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet card, if you add it, so that we can update the card automatically.
We do not collect payment card details, postal addresses or health information, and we do not access your contacts, location or photos.
If you fill in the form on this website, we collect the information you enter, such as your name, business, city, email address and phone number, only to answer your request.
3. How we use your information
- To keep your loyalty card up to date, including your visits and rewards.
- To update the card you have added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
- To send you the business’s offers by email. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe in one step.
- To send you the business’s offers by text message, only if you agreed to receive them (see section 4).
4. Text messages
- Your choice. A business sends you marketing text messages only if you check the box to receive them when you create your card. This box is optional: you can get your loyalty card and buy from the business without it.
- Who sends them. Each business has its own phone number, and every message shows the business’s name.
- How often. Message frequency varies, with at most one offer per week from each business.
- Cost. Message and data rates may apply.
- Stop at any time. Reply STOP to stop receiving text messages from that business. Reply HELP for help, or email hello@getklapp.fr. Stopping text messages does not affect your loyalty card.
- Delivery. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information may be shared with service providers that help us deliver the service, such as the provider that sends the text messages. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party.
5. Who can access your information
Your information is only available to:
- The business where you use your card, to manage its loyalty program.
- Klapp, as the technical provider of the platform.
- Our service providers: Supabase for database hosting, Vercel for application hosting, Twilio for text messages, Amazon Web Services and Resend for emails, PostHog for cookie-free website analytics, Formspree for the website form, and Apple and Google for Wallet card updates.
Your information may be processed in the European Union and in the United States. We never sell your personal information and never use it for advertising.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep your information while the business’s loyalty program is active, and for at most three years after your last visit to that business, unless the business asks for a shorter period. A STOP reply is kept for as long as needed so that you are never texted again by that business without a new agreement.
7. Security
Exchanges with Klapp use an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to information is limited to authorized people and businesses. Klapp stands use signed identifiers to prevent copying.
8. Your choices
- Stop text messages by replying STOP.
- Stop emails with the unsubscribe link in any email.
- Ask for a copy of your information, its correction or its deletion by writing to hello@getklapp.fr. We answer within 30 days.
9. Children
Klapp is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we update this page and the date at the top.
